Sewing 101 Project Examples
During our Sewing 101 class, students are able to learn at their own pace. In our first sewing class, students learn how to make a tote bag that can be used to transport their future projects. Totes are a great starting project because it allows students to learn how to sew straight lines before progressively diving into more complex patterns and projects. Tote bags are fully lined with 4 inside side pockets. Rick rack/trim is used as trim along the outside of the bag. We use fusible fleece batting to make the tote sturdy and durable. Choose your own fabrics and tailor your bag to suit your needs and aesthetic!
Below are some pictures of example tote bags made by Adriana, Shaun, and JoAnne. The last two tote bags show an inside pocket substituted with a zipper pocket.
