Makers Tote Bag
We finished our #makerstote by Noodlehead Sewing Patterns. It comes with two size options: small or large. We opted to make the smaller one. The inside has two pleated pockets and two slip pockets. This tote is perfect for carrying around your current work in progress or even use it as a purse! Fabric is Pristmatics by Benartex.

Rose Jacket
Have a plain jean jacket? Why not add something fun to it!
JoAnne added fabric from our Love Letter collection by Timeless Treasures Fabrics. She started out by making stencils from regular computer paper. She sewed the three back panels to each other then top stitched those two vertical seams that connect the different fabrics. Then it was just a matter of tucking the fabric under and ironing it in place. Pinning the fabric down was necessary to keep it from shifting while sewing. She then decided to carry the theme to the front of the jacket and collar. Although it isn’t perfect, it turned out better than expected!

Valentine's Day Boxers
Shaun made these cotton boxer shorts from one of our new fabrics by Benartex. The pattern was found on the website measuretwice/cutonce and is called the Darcy Boxer Shorts. Like their namesake Mr. Darcy, these boxers are classically stylish. They sit low on the waist and offer full coverage front and back. The instructions will take you through how to make the men's version with exposed elastic, and the women's version featuring concealed elastic, side splits, and shorter leg length.

Ten Minute Table Runner
This is the ten minute table runner we made for Valentine's Day using fabric by Kanvas from Benartex's New Hue and True Romance collections. Usually we say this takes about 20 minutes to do because we like to double check that all the borders are even before sewing anything up. You can leave it as a rectangle or sew up the ends to make a point like we did. We added gold heart-shaped buttons for an extra touch.

Poppins Bag
Join us for our Poppins Bag making class! Just like Mary Poppins had her carpet bag that held an endless supply of stuff, this can hold everything you need. Use it as a sewing bag to keep all your supplies and notions for current projects. It is also large enough to use as a weekender that can hold everything you need for a short getaway. The Poppins Tote is a large, zipper top bag with two outside pockets and two inside pockets to keep all your stuff organized. We used fusible foam and fusible peltex for the base. Structural stays are used to keep it in shape. Shaun made this sample and really went all out with quilting the base fabric to make a beautiful rainbow print.
